Possible leak?
Stock B18C1 GSR
There is a high pitched noise coming from the intake. No matter what rpm the motor is running at it is the same pitch and same level. When I take the intake off you can barely hear it if you put your ear close to it. The intake resonates the sound I guess so when you put your ear by the air filter you can hear it clearly. Is this some kind of vacuum leak or something? Should I run a compression test?
Thanks.

I don't think it is a leak. It is some kind of electronic noise. When the car is off and the power is turned on you can hear the sound coming from the intake. It's a high pitched tone.

Video demonstrating the sound. It is not the intake causing the sound because I can remove it and still hear it coming from the manifold itself. It is more annoying that the video makes it seem. I can hear the sound buzzing in my ear even from 10 feet away. It must be close to a 1khz tone because my ears are really sensitive to it. Very annoying. Any ideas?

Yes the noise occurs only when in the second position and is very quite. When the engine is running however, the noise becomes significantly louder. I will see what I can do as far as audio analysis to better demonstrate what I am hearing.

Okay check out the video

did some audio analysis to show you what I'm looking at. It's that really solid line at 500hz. I slowly faded out everything except frequencies around 500hz and then faded back into the original sound with all the engine noise. Hopefully now you know what I'm talking about.

On a nice day I'll take the intake off and do another video to show you that the air filter has nothing to do with the sound except perhaps maybe resonating and making it a slight bit louder.
Couple videos here demonstrating the sound. I'm sure you can figure out what's going on in the videos. When the intake is off you can barely hear the sound but it is there. The sound resonates in the intake piping and that's why it is louder with the intake on. The sound is definitely coming from inside.
