Default antifreeze overflow tank problem.

I bought a ej2 and i noticed the overflow tank was dirty. I open my radiator cap and pressure comes up from the overflow. My radiator also has some funny lookin brownish stuff inside it. I bought a new radiator n cap n still the samething. I havent had a problem with temp n never over heats but what can it be

The "brownwish stuff" is probably oil. Flush you'r rad, refill then bleed it drive it for day or so see if it comes back.

If it has that "brown stuff", more than likely your head gasket is going out. try what the second post said first. Good luck

When you did all that, did you flush the cooling system?

Either way you need to flush it now.

As everyone said.
Once flush check and see if your losing coolant or filling up the over flow.
If so its more or less a headgasket. Just delt with this a few weeks ago.

Could just be neglect/plugged/rusted radiator. If so radiators are cheap.

true, if you just did the head gasket. I would recommend doing a flush or changing the rad and then flushing.

I would say its the head gasket. there is no way there can be that much sludge in there.

Damn, i've never seen it that bad!

Shine a light into the valve cover and see what it's looking like under there. Or just pull it off.

Could be residual from the previous bad headgasket. Oil floats so it's going to find its way to the upper radiator tank. Also, if oil got in your coolant all the hoses may start to deteriorate. Rubber and petroleum products don't mesh well unless they were designed for that purpose. A set of all the hoses for your car can be had at the Honda dealer for a reasonable price. You may want to verify that your headgasket is intact before investing in any ancillary parts.

Maybe, but honestly have you checked if the car is burning oil or water vice versa?
