Hey whats up guys? Just have a problem that has me stumped, first, every morning when I start my car it sounds like a damn rotory motor for like 5 seconds and then it evens out back to normal, second, every now and then when I drive the car in reverse it starts to idle up and down and acts like it wants to shut off, so I press the clutch in and give it some gas and it goes back to normal. Now I will write everything I have done to the car within the last year, Ebay header, replaced 3 radiator hoses, radiator, radiator fan switch, thermostat, cleaned the throttle body, checked for vacuum leaks, spark plugs, plug wires, bottom o2 sensor. Anything would be greatly appreciated!

 

Be more specific about your car and engine and OBD.

Oh sorry 2000 civic d16y7, and where is the IACV located on the manifold, and how would I go about cleaning it and with what?

 

All the details are in the FAQ's to take it apart.
It's on the intake manifold and has small coolant lines (black hoses) running to it.
Clean with brake cleaner, carb cleaner or some people use simple green.
Be careful and don't damage the rubber gasket. You can reuse it with a little coating of silicon grease.
