Default GSR transmission grinding noise

Any clue as to what it can be? it goes away when I press in clutch.

There's a bad bearing in the transmission, probably the input shaft bearing but it could be one of several. Pull the transmission now! I don't think I've ever heard one quite that bad.

You're not going to know until you get it apart. Normally it's the input shaft bearing, but it could be one or more of about 5 bearings.

Nah, usually they'll be popping out 5th when that's the case, until the gears start welding themselves to the mainshaft and then subsequently shredding themselves.

Sounds like its going to be an expensive ordeal when they do that.
