Icon2 differences between 97 civic proportion valve and 00 civic si

I recently did the rear disc conversion and I was just wondering if there is a difference between the 97 civic proportion valve and oo civic si. And also if there is an alternative besides the si one?

If you call Honda they have the same part number for the si and rear drum brake cars so I'm pretty sure all the 96-00 are the same

the reason I ask is because I read from a forum that you need to upgrade the proportion valve also so I went ahead and did some research and to me its basically the same part

+1 from all the hype ive read some were saying just the hatches had the same but more and more say the dx having smaller front brakes allow for more flow to go to the rear . they are the same 96-00.

I went to a 1 inch master cylinder if you use the stock it will be mushy.also if you have a lot of moisture in your brake fluid it gets like that there is actually a life span on brake fluid

you do know that upgrading to a 1" master is decreasing Clamping pressure....7/8" is perfect for our cars. here is an instance that bigger isnt always better... no pun intended

They look the same externally, it's the valving inside that's different.

The EX prop valve is different. CX, DX hatch, DX, HX and Si coupe all share the same (Si) prop valve. Everything else is different. The prop valve doesn't really have anything to do with rear discs vs drums, it has to do with brake bias.
