Default TL NON Navi to Navi Conversion

Since I am soon to be on the market, Im starting to get the wheels rolling about a few things Id want to do to the car...

I wish I wasn't thinking this, but I am... How involved is it or better yet how expensive is it to add Navi to a base model? I've seen a few DIY about it, but I wouldnt ever try and do that myself... I'd rather take it to a shop or the dealer and let them install everything...

Just trying to get an idea of what this might cost... I'm realistically looking to buy an 07 but maybe an 06 if that matters...

I just bought a 2012 and had problems finding one without the Navigation system.

The key for me was bluetooth integration. I let my smartphone do the job of music and navigation and let the car do its job of driving.

IMO factory nav systems in any car are all obsolete before they hit the assembly line.

your going to be looking around $1600-$1800 depending on where you source your parts. Guy on ebay selling whole swap kits for 04-06 for roughly $1600 and $1800 for 07-08 all oem except for custom harness. 07-08 navis have a slightly better screen resolution not by much though.

^^ exactly what he said. It's better to just buy it with navi rather than trying to get it after. I have non navi and was lookin in to doin it and it is way too much work/money...

the work isnt too hard at all, but then again if you have taken a car apart inside and out with all the right tools it isnt going to be hard. Its worth the experience to do it also.

THIS.

I just did it on my 06 in January. It was a PITA but the experience was well worth it.

EDIT:

I should add, that there isn't ANYTHING in the swap that is inherently difficult. It's just a **** ton of work. I went a different route than most and just swapped out the harnesses for the navi versions, instead of adding the required wires (I'm a big fan of the clean look). This was probably the worst part of it.
