Default Why no boost?

hey guys.
i just slapped my turbo kit onto my car,and it isnt boosting.im not quite sure why, maybe somebody can give me some pointers..
Before the flaming comes, let me just say,i have the kit kinda "ghetto rigged",but im just seeing what it can do.im just "playing" with the kit really.I dont care what happens to the kit,but i hope it doesnt blow my motor...

i have no intercooler, just a fat hose from the turbo to a small pipe with my bov on it,to the intake.

its a t28 turbo, with an internal wastegate that seems to have been disabled.then i have a external wastegate on the manifold.bov is t'd into the fpr vacuum with an fmu.

motor is semi built, should be able to handle a little boost.

car starts right up,idles and runs/drives perfectly fine.i can hear the turbo spool, kinda, at like 4k rpms(might be in my head)and i can hear the bov when i let off the gas..but i dunno,i just cant feel the boost.ive driven boosted before and this isnt right.it seems like i have less power than i did without the turbo..

there is no downpipe at the moment, because i have some modifying of the downpipe that i havent had the time to get done yet.

the wastegate vacuum line is not hooked up btw,so it should be building "unlimited boost", right?

Probably leaking air through a charge pipe.

i just havent got one yet, anxious to see what this turbo does for me..

i know intercoolers werent always around, and that cant be why im not boosting..

but i am suspecting i have a boost leak, because really, the only thing that is ghetto is the intake piping..

slomo's guess is mine as well. a turbo naturally ***** out air just being on the exhaust. if you're not getting pressure there is a leak somewhere on the cold side tubing.

I feel your excitement and all, but I would defs wait till I have everything needed and defs a basemap (let alone a tune) to run a turbo.

Assuming your turbo is working, as everyone else has stated, you have a leak in your charge pipes.

But, since your turbo is modified, who knows? Maybe the internal waste gate is stuck open. Might want to hit the FI forum up on this one.
