Default From D16Y8 to JDM D15B HELP

Hi,

My y8 went out on my 99 ex. I my grandpa bought a D15B 3 Stage VTec. As far as I know, all 3 Stage Vtecs are OBD2, but if you know that some 3 stages come in OBD1, please tell me how I can find out if its obd1 or 2.

Also, I have read that the stock ECU in the EJ8 wont let the 3 stage vtec engage. So what ECU will work?

I heard either p2j or p28. but IDK

I do not want to convert to obd1.

You need the illusive P2J.

You didn't mention it was for an auto. You may be SOL. Call the people you bought it from to see if they have the proper ECU.

I'm pretty sure it's the P2J. The 3 stage Vtec D15B only came in OBDII I believe. Are you sure it's a 3 stage and not just a D15B? Pics? I've seen the ecu's every once in a while on Ebay, and I'm pretty sure the guys at HMotors can get you one too. I almost did this swap in the past.

Oh and also if it's automatic the best tranny for this engine is the Multimatic CVT tranny that was actually coupled to this engine overseas. People might say it's crap but I disagree.
