Default Precision 5831 vs Precision 5431

SO....I have an issue...my built b16a2 needs a new turbo, but I was wanting to make sure it will still be pretty responsive and make 300-400WHP It currently has a turbonetics t3/t04e on it but its gone bad. Would the spool time and responsiveness be noticeable at all between these two turbos? I know both of them will work with how much power I want but if the responsiveness is negligible then why not get the bigger one so I can get more power out of it if I want it.

Id go for the 5431, you could get into surge with the 5831 at certain boost levels if I'm thinking right about this. Both will be super responsive.

Do you have any idea at what psi the surge would happen? It'll be at 12psi running off the wastegate spring until i get a boost controller but I doubt i'll push it over 18psi.

Not until about 26-28psi of boost pressure for either one. For such low boost pressure, you're fine.
