Would a kink in oil catch line cause smoking at WOT?
Car was smoking at WOT and only at WOT, but ran fine. New turbo with proper restrictor, good compression, etc.
While poking around, I noticed a kink had formed in the line that connects the exhaust side of the oil catch can back to the pre-turbo intake tube. I tried unplugging the line so the catch can just dumped to the atmosphere and the smoking stopped.
I have the ECU mailed off being worked on right now so I haven't had a chance to drive the car again, but would a kink (which would essentially block off flow) cause the car to smoke? I guess would the blow-by not be able to travel back through the catch can due to the restriction and be forced back into the block?
