Oil line question
Hey.
When you guys installed your feed lines, how did you get all your metal shavings out?
When you went to prime the line by cranking the engine, how fast did the oil come through?
Mine goes really slow. My first turbo burned out and was rebuilt. I finally hooked my oil pressure gauge right to where the turbo oil feed is and I get like no pressure. The line gets real hot though when the car is running and I assume there is flow. I wonder now.
I have a mechanical testing unit on order and should be here tomorrow to test everything. I'll just poo poo if I have no pressure there for real! I don't want to have to take that oil feed line out again from the back of the block.
thanks.

Re: Oil line question (GruvyTune)
Mine crept out pretty slowly too. We filled up part of a water bottle with oil from the line to try to get anything out of the line. I've let it run for quite awhile now and always cooldown after a drive, so far no smoke... here's to hoping! EV.

Re: Oil line question (GruvyTune)
When you crank the motor... the oil will pump through the line a bit and then when you stop cranking it will flow back.... so it's hard to get it to flow. You almost have to aim it directly towards the ground to get any sort of oil out of that thing..

Re: Oil line question (grnsol)
Are you guys blind!!!
He clearly stated twice that he tapped the BLOCK. When you tap the block it causes metal shavings from the threads to remain in the thread hole. He's trying to flupoo poo out by running oil through the feed line into a container.
Sorry, but please read before posting.

Re: Oil line question (D-SPEED)
I tapped it where most people do.. in the location where the stock sensor is. So I have this..
BLOCK--->T---Stock Sender
|
-3AN oil feed---------------------------->T------Greddy sending unit
|
-3AN line to turbo inlet

Re: Oil line question (TurbodCX)
I disabled my ignition and cranked the enigine till oil came out of my turbo. It took a good 30 seconds before I got anything out of it.
