Default 5858 or 6262?

Wrapping up my refresh project and wanting a new turbo too. I have a dyno power goal of 500whp but would rather have it tuned for say 425. I enjoy reliability. My stock engine has been turboed for 10 years and is just starting to smoke under boost. Also the engine just turned 200k. I like to drive my car. I might take it to a track once just to know how it performs under controlled conditions. I am more of a off ramp bomber who likes torque. Anyway my tuner suggested a 6262cea for my setup. While I am not one to really argue with him I have noticed over years of dealing with him he always suggests/ promotes turbos that I think are too large for said setups. He is a big turbo *****. That being said I have researched 6262s and 5858s but unfortunately there is not a whole lot up yet because of the realtively newness of the cea ptes. There is an abundance of info on 5857s sc61s, ... So reaching out to see what others think about this decision.
My setup:
b18c 81.5mm 9.7:1
01 Itr intake cam with sk2 gear
Gsr exhaust cam with sk2 gear
Sk2 srpings and retainers
Ferrara 6000 valvetrain
Pnp gsr head
Victorx with sk2 70mm
1000cc inj/ dual 255s-6 feed from filter
Custom ramhorn/ Hks 40mm wg/ Blitz Bov

This car is a street car. Has full interior, ac, and ps. The need for a turbo that makes 700whp seems silly to me. Also would prefer quicker response. This is why I am leaning towards the 5858. Either would be jb turbo if that makes any diff. Thanks for responses.

your tuner is looking at power levels, not responsiveness. I'd definitely stay smaller. there are tons of projects that are using smaller systems for your setup, though the victor X is a bit much for your use.

You can also check with another person we know here who did the same thing (except used a BBK intake manifold.

and his video. Though he used a different Garrett turbo than the 5858 you're looking at.

And a street video against 2 bikes

Kind of it is. I just dont think I "need" 6262. I have enough turbo now for the power but I would rather have the technology of the new wheel and turbo design.

Shodan- Thanks for response. I was very interested in your opinion on the matter..... He is a max power kind of person... meaning big dyno numbers and track response is what his builds are geared to and sometimes I think he overlooks each individual's situation and apllies his own goals to it. Super nice guy, great ...superb tuner, but a real huge turbo fan. my last setup made 317/ 256 10.4psi Stock B18c1 oil pan to valve cover minus arp head studs with a Turbonetics t3t4 57 trim 63 ar and he said i should have had a 35 or sc61 then.

This guy hasn't been on here since 2013 so you might want to check that out before bringing a thread back from three years ago. In other words, he's most likely not gonna answer you.
