how to put window back on track on a 1997 civic coupe
ok.. so my window went off track. it is an easy fix which i did before.. so i open up my door panel. i notice the front part of the window is off track. so i unscrew the bolt on the front part. then i un screw the back bolt for the back part of the window. it seems that i got both of them on track but for some reason it never goes all the way up. and the back part of the window tends to just slip off the molding????? no matter how many times i try placing it right, IT SLIPS OFF???? weird crap if you ask me. anybody experience this? this just randomly happened today. can anybody tell me if they see anything out of the ordinary? thanks
p.s. 1st and 2nd pic is the front track. the one on the front part of the window.

Had this issue plenty of times when I had my coupe as well. All I did was throw some grease or wd-40 on the part where the window slide and that helped ALOT. Also, the part for it falling off track it just always seemed to happen when I rolled my window all the way down so I just stopped rolling mu window all the way down and that seemed to fix it.
is the window regulator bent anywhere? had this problem in my hatch and all i did was swap out the window regulator.
but if all else fails, just don't roll down the window, even if u have to get baked in the car. =P

My window regulator was bent but as long as I didn't roll my window all the way down it didn't go off track for some reason.
if your regulator is bent or one part of the window sags (usually the front) then the window will not roll up and down evenly, causing it to gome off the track.
Also the regulator arms have small plasitc rings that help it roll back and forth, they tend to go loose or break.
Make sure the weather stirrping where the window stripping is lubed and not too dammaged.
check that your mirrors are not overtightend, aftermarket mirrors can hang over and pinch the window\stripping.

You have alignment bolts in the corners of the doors too. These help prevent the windows from falling out. I just actually took my windows out over the weekend and re-greased the tracks as part of my once a year maintenance items. I will do it again next July.
i got it back. not really sure how. i took off the rubber stuff from the back of the window. greased it up. re aligned it. put it back in the door. made sure the back was in first. then front. then done
