Default gotta do my headgasket saturday

98 civic D16y7

been noticing a slight coolant drop, and rise in the overflow, and i looked at it today after coming come and there were bubbles of air coming up through the recovery.

anything to look out for when i replace the headgasket? i've done it before on a d15b7, and luckily the head wasn't warped. I'm hoping mine isn't warped either, i has not been overheated, and is still full of coolant. i will not be driving the car until i fix it.

whats the chances of it warping WITHOUT ever overheating?

Doesn't sound like a high risk for warpage, though check it carefully with a precision straight edge to avoid doing the job twice.

What is the mileage, if you are not the original owner someone else could of had an issue.

Why don't you do a block test first.

Also has it been running hot?

Just throw a stright edge on it while it's out.

I've only seen a head wrap once.

its bubbles. they are slow but steady.. like 1 or 2 a second. and only when the car is warm, and has been driven, which indicates a SMALL leak.

i found a mechanic who does work on the side, he is gonna charge me $250 to do it, providing i bring the parts, coolant, and oil. so i'm gonna take his offer. it saves me the trouble, and the trouble of destroying my nails haha.

dropping it off tomorrow after work.

But she already said she was giving it to a guy to do for her

I dated a girl once who got turned on by the smell of motor oil and gasoline. Pro-tip: Motor oil doesn't come out of bed sheets.
