hi all i'm confused now cause i searched where to connect my wastegate to the intake or on the IC piping and a few say on the in take and some others say not to connect on the intake ...

cause i had it on the IC piping but i know a guy who owns a fast honda and his wastegate was conected to the intake so i changed mine to...

what do you guys say?? on the intake or on the IC piping.

Are you running an electronic boost controller or a manual boost controller?

A wastegate is connected differently depending on wether you have an EBC or a MBC. What one are you going to get?

 

i have a manual boost controller i think tomorrow i'll buy vacuum lines and install it.

 

One port of the MBC to the side (signal) port on the wastegate. The other port on the MBC goes to vacuum. I personally have a barb in my charge piping just after the turbo that I used.

 

my wastegate only has one side port on the top there's just a threaded hole
any suggestions?

Some use the intake as a reference point as it shows the true PSI after pressure drop from piping and intercooler.
Most just use the turbo's fitting

 

Yeah thats just another port for your Boost control, i believe if youhave a manual boost controller the lower port is used and if you have an electronic one that the top one is used.. I could be wrong correct me if I am

 

technically this in incorrect. not all setups even use a boost controller. the wastegate just needs a boost signal to the bottom port to function on its own. the OP is asking whether to use a boost only reference (pre-throttle body) or a vaccumm source (intake manifold).

while both can be used, wastegate manufactuers will recommend the boost only source, this way the wg diaphragm doesn't ever have vaccumm applied to it.

an MBC will tee into the bottom port, while an EBC used both top and bottom ports.

So in a nut shell its up to Manufactuers spec, where the boost control and WG where it needs to be applied so im right and wrong lol.

You can use atp quick fitting that i stalls on silocone coupler after turbo if you dont jave a source on your turbo utself
