Default B16a2 FI query.

I have a stock b16a2 that I am considering boosting. I am looking into the Goautoworks street kit. I am not looking for high performance 10 second runs and what not. Just something fun. The car is not a daily driver. I am just looking for something I can have fun with on the weekends.

Would 300hp be safe on a stock b16a2? I will be replacing the rings, valves, valve seals, retainers, springs, cams, gam gears, headgasket, and head bolts.

Yes I know I can get more power wih forged lowers, lower compression pistons, built head, and better kit. I am not looking for a 500hp monster.

That is not necessary unless your engine needs a rebuild. Your stock head is not the weakest point, your block is so I would boost to the blocks limits.

Boost the engine stock and have fun with that, there is plenty to be had there. What turbo and engine management system are you looking to go with? Crome or Neptune on a chipped P28 are very cost effective and great set ups for a tune.

Also, you can boost a stock engine and have it be a DD, it can be just just as reliable if tuned correctly.
I installed an eBay turbo kit onto my friends B16A2 Integra and he daily drives it to work 35 miles every day.

I am currently running a usdm p30 with s300.

I am going to replace he hg due to a seal needing to replace. I am pretty sure I have a bad valve seal due to oil being inside the intake port on the head in cylinder 3.

300 would be safe with a bone stock b16 + Arp headstuds. As long as its a healthy motor of course. Do a compression and leakdown test to be sure. The most important thing is going to be your tune. As long as the tune is good 300 won't be a problem. The go autoworks kits are best bang for he buck as far as a new kit with quality parts goes. Another option would be there Tuner kit w the 57 trim. If you ever wanna make a lil more power you won't have to replace the turbo.

I would definitely recommend the smaller turbo. B16s dont make any torque and their short stroke makes spooling a turbo take a little longer than others. That Integra I posted gets full spool at about 4700 whereas on my D16Y8 with the same turbo, I was spooling it at under 4000.

Why dont you get your head rebuilt, throw on a new OE HG, and some ARP head studs? That should fix your issues.

Do a leak down test for now and report back with your findings.

I would definitely want the smaller turbo. I don't want there to be a large amounts of turbo lag. Wouldn't the 60 trim be small enough for the b16?

I did a compression test a few months ago and got 180 in all cylinders. I know that doesn't really speak much for an old hg but I might as well replace the hg and valve seals just to be on the safe side.

I was told that 180 is pretty good for a b16a2. Then I have read that it's low. I believe the haynes manual says 180 is where it is suppose to be.

It depends on how accurate the gauge is. If its not a top end gauge like snap on don't worry about it. As long as there close across the board you'll be fine.

It is my roommate's and I believe it was from harbor freight or autozone. I am not too sure.
