Default b16a2 on stock sleevs, high hp project (need advice)

hello eveybody.

i have a B16A2 that i got from a junkyard berfore a while.

first i have some questions.
-when you rebuild an engine... do you need to replace engine bearings?
-what is the optimum power that you can push on stock sleevs and low compression pistons and stock bore?
-is it necessary to rebuild head if i stay in the engine rev limit?
-is there any interchangeable camshafts from other honda engines that will help me gain power with turbo ?

the setup i had in mind:
0BD1 B16A2 P30.
oem full gasket kit (allready ordered from lsdmotorsports).
tunertoys rods (stock langth).
wisco low compression pistons. (+piston rings)arp head studs (do i need main studs?). ??????????????????
uberdata
LOG manifold with external gate. (T3/T4 Flange)
which turbo????????

ok this is your part.... what copression ratio will be the best to get the most HP on stock sleevs.

and also which turbo will be most optimal.

best regards moshik galimidi

p.s.
i live in israel so our pump gas is 95 or 98 octan (will it help me?)

yes i would replace the bearings. i also would get it sleeved since your replacing the pistons/rods and going turbo. if you dont you will wish you did later. as for cams itr cams are as big as u should go. i'd use the stock ones. upgrade the springs and retainers. it all depends on what your budget is and your power and reliablity concerns. im doing the whole 9 to my gsr. sleeves, bearings, pistons, rods, springs, retainers, valve guides, port and polish. i've seen too many people regret not building it right or the way they want it the first time around.

I dont think you have to send it to us. Look into Kuwait. Im currently deployed to iraq and lived in kuwait last year. TOprpm i think is in kuwait and has sum of the best cars in the world all from the middle east. There is shops in kuwait that will sleeve u just have to find them i think that is the closet if not i know theres some in India. Which would be cheap. Just look it up. YOU need to sleeve. well dontneed to but would be best.

if your looking for 450-500 hp you definetly should sleeve that block. you may get by with 280whp for a while with a good tune but 300whp and up i strongly suggest sleeving that block

sleeving would be nice, but there are plenty of 400hp+ cars on stock sleeves nowadays.

fine example:

Next thing are you going to tell him that VTEC sucks for turbo, overlap is a no-no so you should run B16 cams, and an LS tranny?

- I would replace the bearings.
- Most people will say 350-450whp on stock sleeves is a safe limit. You can and many have pushed more, but it's up to you. Will the car be daily driven or a track car. That may have a lot to do with your decisions.
- You don't have to rebuild the head, but you might as well since you are putting it on a fresh bottom end.
- ITR or GSR are your best bet.
- Probably between 9:1 and 10:1. People have run 8:1 up to 11:1+
- Need to decide for sure on your hp goals first. T3/T4, straight T4, 60/1 etc....

You may want to pick another manifold for 400-500hp. Log manifolds will hold you back alot.

i believe you about people doing 400 on a stock block. i'm saying it all depends on how long he wants it to last, is he running an ems, is it a drag only car and how deep are his pockets. ITS ALL PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE. thats all i'm saying

i was reading a magazine today with a turbo b16 build up. they used a stock block w/ 9:1 forged pistons and lighweight forged rods. and everything else was stock. even used stock had bolts. the switched the cams to somethin similar to a type and upgraded the springs. after boost and tune they made over 500hp.

and take a look at this page https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1355442
654 hp on stock sleeves

the stock block is plenty strong. just make sure you get a good tune.
