Default Trying to lower boost from 14 psi to 10 psi on s300

Hi,

I had my civic tuned last year on the s300. When we tuned it, the lowest boost we could set my setup at was 14 psi on the current wastegate spring. From there we tuned up to 22 psi on the race gas setup which is on the same map. Currently the setup is set to run at wastegate pressure which is 14 psi.

I now have a lower bar spring and want to set up my computer so it can run as low as 10 psi, mainly to help with wheel spin in first and second gear.

I have installed the spring. Now the question here is do I need to have it re-tuned at the lower boost settings, or can I just set the boost at 10 psi and the computer will compensate everything else?

if your tuner made your map correctly, you should be fine going to 10 psi. only real way to know would be a wideband though.

Chances are your tune isn't going to be 100% spot on at 10 psi as the lowest wide open throttle run your tuner made was at 14 psi.

You should only change the boost level(s) if you have a wideband oxygen sensor gauge to monitor your air fuel ratios.

You will likely spin 1st and 2nd at 10 psi also...

Ya the tuner said to switch off the boost control solenoid and do a datalog with the new spring so he can look everything over. Thanks for your reply.

I do have a wideband that is wired into the ecu for datalogging. The tuner is not local in my area so he wants me to shoot him off a datalog with the new spring installed.

I'm sure I will still spin, however do you think it will show a slight improvement to my times? I've never used the gear rated boost.
