Did I get the wrong injectors? pic inside
I went to swap in my new injectors today and they don't seem right. I have a D16Y8 from a 98 Civic. I bought these off a fella on the board a few months ago. They are ID 1000s I believe.
Stock injector on the left. Did he maybe sell me B series injectors? or what do I do to make these fit?

i don't see the problem, you should use the ID washers from xenocron though, contact them and order the washers so you can install your factory seals on the machined part of the injector and install. the washers will prevent the seal from sliding up too far. also, buy new lower seals from them while you're at it. not sure if ID uses OE seals or not but since you're ordering washers, order the new seals as well
So what your'e saying is to transfer the stock rubber piece from the OE injector to the bottom of the ID injector like this

Now install them in the car
Picture came out a little dark but the do seem to fit in the injector hole this way. The green o-ring at the bottom though is just to small to touch anything and is just sitting in mid air.

The main problem is they are to tall. See how the fuel rail can't come back down and seat itself properly on the studs it mounts to.

you have to make shims out of washers and or tubing to get the correct install height. also, get those new seals and the washers to sit above them. it's only a few bucks
Can you send me a link to the washers and seals you think I need? I looked at Xenocron's website but don't see what you're wanting me to get.
As for shimming that stud up higher I can try. It doesn't have much thread to play with but I'll see what I can do.

I got the studs shimmed that hold the fuel rail in place. One thicker washer on the bottom of the stud and a thinner one at the top. Seems to work fine.
Now I just need to cut off the old electrical plugs and put on my new ones. Does it matter which way around the wires go on a fuel injector? If so is there a positive side for this ID injector?
Thanks

keep the wires straight, meaning look at your old injector and make sure the wire that would go on whichever side of it goes to the same side on the new. i've honestly never tried crosswiring an injector but i've never seen a reason to experiment since it's easy to just keep them straight
also, for the washers and seals, they don't have every little part on the web page. call them on monday and order up and or just PM him on here, he'll know just what you're talking about
oh, and get rid of those green o rings. they are absolutely worthless, no use. all they serve to be is intake valve food. won't hurt anything if they swell and get sucked down but there's no reason to leave them there
