Default Why more hp, less tyre distance!?

several discussions had been made among our group but we didn't get the theory of the answer of why there is difference distance occured between 1.5bar and 2.0bar of boost with same gear ratio and diameter of tires... practically we found that 1.5bar made more distance than 2.0bar boosted with similar ratio... why is that? somebody would help us to solve the twiggle...

What are you talking about when you refer to ”distance”? I really don't really understand what you mean by this. If you are referring to top speed it will not change unless you change gear ratio, tire size, or rev limiter. If this doesn't answer your question please explain what you are asking in more detail, it might be getting lost in translation.

Distance the car traveled? Something is getting lost in translation dude.

I see the problem: You forgot to carry the 1.

If I understand the OP right: It could be from the turbo being out of it's efficiency range or you have better traction from less power. This is based on MAJOR assumptions...

sorry for the bad english, i'll try my best to explain... wanna ask u guys, if 1.5bar in 2nd gear made 30m length (tyre travel)... will 2.0bar make the same length as 30m or it will be less than 30m? this happen when we scrambled the boost from 1.5 to 2.0bar at 6000rpm at 2nd gear untill 8500rpm... some said it will shorter the distance/length, some said not...

i'm trying to relate it to why we need to use lower final drive if the engine is from 1.6 to 2.0 liter... am i relevant?

I think what you are asking is if they will travel the same distance. If so technically if there is absolutely no spinning then they should see the same distance of travel. At a higher boost level they should see the same distance faster, as they should be making more power unless you have a maxed turbo.

so... 2.0b will travel the same distance as 1.5bar for each gear, only difference is time where 2.0b will have less time than 1.5b, right?

I think iim getting mind fu**ed..
My brain hurts from this thread.
How is a diffrent pressure from the turbo charger changing the distance your car is moving? Its just increasing the rate it arrives there.
I think.....

30 meters is 30 meters, it doesn't change because of more boost pressure. As long as the tire/wheel size stays the same, the wheels is gonna do the same amount of rotations to reach 30 meters.

i've found this, assuming...

car speed for 2nd gear, boost at 1.5b @ 8500rpm = 68mph/107 kmh... the timing for 2nd gear at 2.5sec... then the distance/tire travelling = 107km/hr x 0.000694hr = 0.04258km = 74.3m

for same 2nd gear boost at 2.0b, we assume the timing is 2.0sec... so the distance/tire travelling = 107km/hr x 0.00056hr = 0.0594km = 59.4m

difference of distance/tire travelling, low boost - hi boost = 74.3 - 59.4 = 14.9m

is this shown that more power will shorter the distance? ( 1st gear will get similar distance because we use low boost at 1.5b)

I think this is why I'm building a turbo GSR over a stock LS for the track.

Your calculations are all messed up. You have the same velocities in both (107 km/hr). Your velocity should be higher with more boost. But it's not really relevant anyways because this isn't taking into account that your velocity isn't linear. You are going to be accelerating over this distance.

Why are you so worried about this anyways?? Is this a dispute between math guys?? If so, you need to look into some better formulas. But in the end, if you're trying to find the distance based off of speed and time, it should come out to be the same. This is because (like others have said) your wheel/gear ratio is the same through both run.

Technically if you could bend space time you could in fact shorten the distance you need to travel to cover the quarter mile.... You could in fact compress space time in front of you, and expand it behind you which would in turn move space around your car... making it appear to travel faster as both space and you are moving at the same time in oposite directions.

It is similar technology as to what star trek uses for warp drive...

If your tires are spinning at the higher boost levels you will show less distance.

If you turn the boost up to lightspeed, you can make the kessel run in less than 12 parsecs.
