93 ej1 w/ b18c1 CEL 14 then light stays on
Ok, so just to start off..i BOUGHT the car this way. Its a 93 ej1 with a obd2 b18c1 with a b17 head. Here is where the confusion begins.. The harness says "OBD2 LS" and i know i have obd2 dizzy, because there is one fat plug. But, i have a obd1 ecu (p28 and p75, both chipped) and there is NO jumper harness. Sooo, im assuming the dumbass that i bought the car from, hardwired everything.
blah blah blah..anyways.. I just bought a "chipped obd1 ecu" off ebay, which ended up bein a p75..with stock usdm gsr basemap and launch control at 3500. The first time i plugged it in and drove it, it ran fine. But no vtec. I didnt have a cluster at the time, so i couldnt check CEL. So i got a cluster today, go to drive it and i cant get past 3500rpm..Limp mode, right? So i check my CEL, and it shows code 14 then stays solid immediately after the last flash. I unhooked the battery, and still get the same thing.
So i tried my p28, and i can go to 7k+..still no vtec. But i still have CEL code 14. But it doesn't stay solid. Just keeps repeating the code, as it should.
Sorry if my info is scattered, im just extremely frustrated.. ive owned this car for over a year, and i have had it rebuilt twice..over $1500 into it, and its never once cracked vtec or idled correct. If you need any more info let me know.

No, it is not. The wire broke off of at the plug, i need to get a new one. My main concern is why vtec isnt engaging. As well as why my p75 wont let me get past 3500rpm, but DID at one time. I will get a new plug tomorrow, and i swapped out my IACV from an LS that i had laying around. Thanks for the reply.
To my understanding, which could certainly be wrong, any chipped obd1 ecu is capable of VTEC..as long as it has a basemap with vtec. Is this incorrect?

Oooh ok, i wasn't sure if ANY cel would cause it to not engage. I'll get a plug after work and let you guys know what i figure out.
Thanks!!

So i got a new plug and it didnt fix the idle or the CEL. I looked up the pinout, and ran wires to a9 and b1. I dont have any CEL, but it idles at 3000-3500rpm. Ill hit the gas real quick, and it will go down to around 1000, but climbs back up to 3000..
Ill do a search to see what i can find, but i thought id let u guys know. Maybe see if u guys have any ideas?

I took off the TB and cleaned it thoroughly, because there was a decent amount of gunk inside..but it still does the same thing. BUT, now after i stab the gas pedal it just goes back down to 3000rpms. Not down to 1k, like it did before i cleaned it. And the idle screw is all the way backed off..its not even touching.
I WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For those who care:
It was the FITV.. I took it off to clean it and i could hear the thing inside (thermostat??) moving around. It wasn't even threaded in at all. So i cleaned it up, screwed it in 4 turns and it purrs like a kitten. With no CELs!
Finally! I couldn't have a bigger, goofier smile on my face

Thanks for the replies, guys.
