Default check engine light

I have a 96 civic with a b16a2 in it. I'm running with a p06 chipped but I throw a cel. When I try and jump the cable to check what the cel is nothing comes up. I've tried switching ecu's and I still throw a cel.

I did the swap with a friend do you think that maybe I connected something where its not supppose to go and that the reason for throwing a cel?

solid cel no flashes when you do the jumper = bad ecu/chip possible bad sodder

how can you wire something up wrong its a plug and play swap. worst case you only have to run vtec/oil pressure wires to the ecu plugs

what wiring if any did you guys do?
