MSD 6A Ignition Box
What type of rev control are you looking for?
What engine modifications do you have and what are your goals for it? Are you taking your car to the track?

Then the 2 step/launch control would be the only advantage of installing the A6 ignition.
However, If you are doing any sort of modifications that will be adding more performance/hp to your engine. A fully tunable ECU or standalone EMS would be much more beneficial.

IMO it's not really worth it to use a device that only cuts spark for rev control, no matter what the price. I'd much rather have a tuned ECU with a rev control that uses a fuel cut.
You would have to talk to a tuner in your local area to see what they charge for tuning.
Or if you are just looking for a chipped ECU with a base map and some 2 step settings. You could look at the ones available from Xenocron.com. You could contact them to see what they can do about adding launch control to a base map.
I think it's around $175-$200 for a chipped OBD1 ECU and a basemap.

Supply and demand. Some of the stock ECUs are becoming harder to find so the prices go up.
Chipping an ECU will probably never really increase in cost as it is fairly easy to do and more and more people are doing it. The components are still relatively easy to purchase at a decent price as well. If any of the components were to be discontinued with no replacement then chipping would also go up in price.
