I'm due to have to change my oil at the end of next month and have some questions. I recently discovered handa-accessories which is near me so i can order online and pick it up. I have been using mobil one high mileage and purolator one filters. My question is should i stay with mobil one and purolator or switch to honda filters and oil, my cars a 97 civic dx if that's any concern. Thanks

 

honda doesn't formulate its own oil....or make its own filters. They source them out, and throw their sticker on it.

Id say use whatever is the better deal. If you want to get into the nitty gritty go over to bobistheoilguy.com where they have comparisons and tests. For most though if your vehicle is in good shape, as long as your regularly maint your vehicle, oil is oil.

i use mobile synthetic
and for filters i use the purolator its a good one

 

If you are using synthetic and not having issues continue using it. If you change to reg oil you should not switch back to synthetic for older cars.

 

For a stock motor, I run the recommended weight of whatever is cheap, but still a good brand. For filters, I usually go with Purolator PureONE unless I feel like spending more than $10.
