R won't start
Backround: 01 Itr Spun bearing so I got the bottom end rebuilt (oem). Car is getting spark and fuel but won't start.
We checked the timing and that seems to be fine. Firing order is right. Main ground and vc ground both grounded. We even tried to use starting fluid. I spoke to a few honda guy and no luck
Also, I have only 1 of 3 keys I had bought the car with. Im not sure how the immobilzer works but does anyone know for sure if there is a possibility it could be that? Remember its cranking and getting feul/spark. It looks like it should have an immobilizer inside it. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...1-31180048.jpg
Final thing that I can't figure out is there is a noise coming from the engine bay that sounds like current flowing but I can't hear exactly where its coming from. The harness didn't have a problem before and I stored it safely. Are there any plugs that could of been crosssed?

Are you absolutely sure you are getting spark? Check the plugs to see if they are fouled up. If your getting fuel you'll smell it. Check the gaps and clean them out. Let the fuel evaporate from the cylinders. You probably were cranking a few to many times and dumped a bunch of fuel in there. If this doesn't work, swap out your ignition coil for a known working one. These coils will easily go bad if you leave the battery connected and don't start the car for about two weeks. It's happened to me twice. lol. Good thing I have spare coils. If the green key on your dash stays on, then it means the ecu is not recognizing the key you are using. If it goes away, then the immobilizer is working fine. Hope this helps.
may be random but when i got my itr up and running I was having the same issue and come to find out the injectors were bad I had fuel at the injectors but they weren't functioning. I don't know if that helps but it was an issue I seen and racked my head for 2 days about it cause I smelled fuel had it at both the filter and rail and when I pulled the injectors from the rail I had fuel there.. so I had no idea what could be the problem so i just said screw it swapped them out with a different set that I knew were good and it fired right up..

Scratch up the thermostat housing and the main ground that is there with sandpaper to ensure a good connection. Just because it is secure doesn't mean it is a good connection. Also there is another ground at the passenger frame rail and transmission housing that you didn't mention.

May also be dumb but have seen people do it plenty of times, double check the TPS and MAP sensor plugs that will also keep it from starting. The plugs are very simalar so you could have a chance they are swapped...

This might be dumb but you should check your spark plug, My 98 itr was driving fine on the weekend and the following Monday it wouldn't crank up in the morning. I spent a whole day testing everything and finally decided to change out the spark plug, 5 sec later it crank right up.
Well w/e it is best of luck to you !!

If the car is cranking then your ground no longer becomes the issue, if the map and tps is crossed it will start and die followed by a check engine... Like they said, compression test first never know. The cap on the driver side wiring harness is plugged, spark, fuel,. Check rotor screw didn't fall off inside dizzy its common.
