Default My ep3 build need opinions..

kinda have a budget right now of about 3k or so...
1.Should I turbo my stock A3??

2. Build a A2 for boost and boost later down the road??

3.Or a all motor build prob a High compression Frank motor and try to keep it on pump gas.

Its my daily just wanna make some good power and have a good project for school.
I already have a bigger fuel pump, mounts,6 puck clutch,11.5lbs flywheel. And hopefullly kpro, and 3" exhaust and bigger injectors on the way soon.
just want some opinions thanks. And i need to get my car buffed bad..

1) I wouldn't do **** to an A3 other than getting rid of it lol

2) You could build for boost and boost later or just boost a stock a2 and build later...

3) N/A is super expensive and can hurt daily driving... but can be a sleeper and lots of fun.

I don't know why everyone knocks the A3 motor.. you can boost it and have 300whp for much cheaper than a swap.

But it looks like you already have about 300hp worth of stickers on your car, you don't need a swap or a turbo.

The best bang for your buck would be to build your a3 with .020" or .040" oversized 9:1 pistons, forged rods, a built head (cams, valve springs, and titanium retainers), injectors, and boost it

Another option is to get an a2 and building it on the side and keeping your current engine in the car unless it's not your only car. But if you want to build it than you should do the build and boost all at once because you wont make much power at all with 9:1 compression pistons and no boost, but to each his own!

Whatever you choose to do post up here I'd like to see how it turns out, Good luck and the car looks great

Start with a k20a2 swap, bolt on and kpro and go from there. You'll be surprised at how much fun 200+whp is with the type s gearing.

if 300 whp is what you're after, perhaps you should do nothing and save up for option #3 - Frank motor. Build it, run it NA and you'll be good to go.

Check out this guy's K20 @ 300 NA power: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=mcFQPA9s01A

yea i ive been lookin for a head and a good block for sale. but my other option would be.. a2 swap 3" exhaust and kpro for now cuz thats what would work for my budget for now then boost down the road. just never owned a boosted car before and that will make a easy 400 whp. saw a build guy made 580 on 18psi. stock motor.

what kind of potential does the k20a3 have, would i be able to boost or supercharge it with stock internals or do i have to build the motor, and why do people rip on the k20a3 so much,

people rip on this motor so much because it's "fuel efficient v-tec"
its not the set you back at 5500 rpms you expect from a honda but still a fun motor i guess ...
just picked up a k24 block for mine , still looking for an a2 head
