kn air filter for my 97 civic dx d2

Default kn air filter for my 97 civic dx d2

yesterday i got my package from auto part store, oreilly auto part. i got kn air filter installed in my civic. i just drive it like its new car when i bought the car so is it worth time because i have heard about kn being positive...hmm i havent heard about any cons. so you guys can tell me so i can be more careful?

what i got out of his post

I got a package from my local auto parts store Orileys it had a K&N filter on it I installed it and now the car drives like new, and will this increase the value of the car since its a K&N and i heaven't heard anythign bad about them. so you guys can tell me if it has any cons so i can be more careful?

i'm sorry. i'm really bad at explaining. what i meant is would it reduce the life of vehicle?? or keep going on it?

Why would it reduce the life of the vehicle? If it's a replacement filter then use it. Nothing wrong with K&N products. Possibly ask these questions before you make the purchase next time.

i have one. when its dirty i just clean it and dont oil it put it back on dry. i dont know if it messes up with the map sensor though?

i did make sure i asked lots of person say its good if its popular,etcs thats why i bought it and installed it. and my friend in billings,mt say its bad because he had a bad experience i was like..what? he said he installed it before and it killed his motor...he alway like trucks. so thats why i had to make sure double time to make sure if that fact is true or not about kn air filter could cause it?. but i have no doubt about my civic is great w kn filter. i heard its really great. so i made it to no point of return w confidence

i watched a youtube video about how to do clean on kn air filter step by step. and they said it will dry about one day or one and half day.

You buddys engine didnt get killed by a K&N.. it most likely had issues before the air filter swap.

That just the most idiotic thing ive heard in a long time.. almost sig worthy

his motor probably got killed by the gas he put in it or the oil maybe the air outside....

i see.. then hes still newbies w his truck lol. for me.. i still have lots to learn because i care about keep same mpgs. i like to get 40 mpgs. so i want to learn more by doing maintance with my d16y7 it got 196309 mileage

i cleaned mines at night and let it air dry overnight and morning then its all dry and good to go.
