Air Filter

Hi. I have a 99 Honda Civic and I was wondering how often should you change your air filter? How do you know when it's time to change the air filter?

15000 miles if youre on an auto parts basic filter. if you have a KN filter then never. just service the filter by cleaning it and treating it with the KN filter oil

Right now it just has a basic FRAM air filter. I'm not sure how dirty it has to be to replace it though?? I don't want to waste my money if it doesn't have to be replaced.

i know how that is. you asked how often it should be replaced though. 15000 miles is the answer.
