Default piston rods, are they worth the money to put in??

i got a hook up for a set of high performance piston rods for my 95 accord and everyone is telling me that i might as well buy a new h22a cause with the money i spend rebuilding the damn thing, i could just get a prelude engineI have everything replaced on the exhaust from the cold air intake to the manifold and the cat conv. to the exhaust, should i just go for the rebuild? and how much of a boost of horsepower am i looking at if i install them? . is it really worth it??

If youre going to stay NA...probably not worth it.

Of course the rebuild wont cost as much as the H22, but I doubt you get the 60 hp increase with pistons and rods either.

Depends on the compression/diameter of the pistons and the cam.

It could literally vary from -20 to +70 hp

Niedejb, do you know if you have to resleeve the F22B1 to install pistons, or can you just hone the cylinders and install new pistons??

You can hone if its within tolerances.

Stock size: 85.07 Max
.25 Over: 85.25-85.26
.50 Over: 85.50-85.510

Reboring limit .50 mm

(the over will require new pistons)

Straight from the service manual.

I have built a couple of B series motors, however on the B series you can see the iron sleeve inside of the aluminum sleeve. On the F series, I can not see an iron sleeve. It just looks like one big aluminum sleeve. So, whats the deal?? These f series blocks are much different from the b series i am used to.

You would have jumped all over anyone else that would've said that.

I'll let this one slide.
