Default Wastegate spinning problem

so a friend of mine has an ebay turbo kit on his car. its been running for a bit now. boosted @ 10psi just fine. we soon found out that the top of the wastegate (aluminum portion) was able to spin around freely. would this be a big problem down the road? like im able to move it side to side a bit causing the shaft on the inside to also move side to side..this is now getting replaced with a tial gate but wanted to know if it will affect anything if used on a different setup down the road. tia.

Time for it to go. it could cause a spike and pop your motor very, very quickly.
Never buy that **** again.

its junk but if you want to fix it. take it apart- top hat off, spring out, diaphgram pulled up and theres a large nut in there that sandwiches the aluminum hat down.

Yup, and the OP can keep doing in that every few months, or maybe after every track day.

I think I have about 1-2 customers per month during the summer season coming in for "wastegate tightening". Then it stops after they get a Tial...lol

i tighen it and it stopped moving. locked tight it a bit and allso jb welded the outside neck to make sure it doesnt move again extra insurance.

my friend replaced it with a 38mm tial i sold him but the ebay gate is going to my other friend which is in the process of turbo'n his car now right now. its temp til he can wait and save up to get the new waste gate i informed him on getting. he's new to turbo and wanted cheap for the time being cause its lsv now and gsr is waiting to go back in.

but thanks for the input everyone. (if it was mine i would never use it haha. i run the tial 44mm mvr )
