Default Overboosting on HKS wastegate. . .

Anyone have problem with overboosting on an HKS standard wastegate with any turbo. I am having problems with mine and a 60-1 turbo. I have checked and re-checked for line leaks and can't find any. Suggestions/solutions or similar experiences?

Nope, never had a problem with the hks wastegate. What spring do you have in the wastegate? How much are you overboosting at?

I'm on my second HKS wastegate. I had a 9lb spring in it and one day it decided it didn't want to boost below 1.2 bar. Melted #4 Piston.

Hey Gill I just got the new tial hybrid wastegate. I will let you know how it is and if you keep having problems you could try one out. I bought if off of b18bturbo(viren) for a way good deal. It has the base of a 35mm but the internals of a 40mm so it will handle pretty much anything..

try changing the bottom w/g line to something larger. I use a -6 line on the bottom and a -4 for the top of the w/g.

I was using the HKS wastegate was boosting 17psi on a 9lb spring. I tried doing 20psi because my motor was already blown but my engine was to weak. I am selling my wastegate right now. Check my sig.
