just rebuilt my transmission in my 90 civic si hatch works like a charm but for some reason my shifter when its in neutral is all the way to the left instead of in the middle like its supposed to be what do you think it could be?

its hooked up right thats the first thing i checked

 

If you were to push your shifter into the middle does it spring back to the left?

 

yes it just go back to the left

 

that's wierd.
try unbolting it and adjusting the rear bushing, that's my best guess.

 

did you re install the shift spring (number 15 in pic)?

Iirc, parts 16 and 9 can get flipped around and you'll lose "detent" on the shifter. Sounds like it's time to rip that bitch back out and double check your work. :/

Yep. Can cause the shifter to feel sloppy. But definitely take a good look around for other potential mistakes once you split the case halves.
