shifter bushings?
When my car is in gear the shifter doesnt sit snug. i can move it left and right pretty far. could shifter bushings be the problem?

Left and right pretty far, you probably have a worn shift linkage. Mine is the same exact way right now. It used to move in all directions while in gear, but when I replaced my bushings with poly bushings, it was now solid up and down, but still moves alot left and right. Upon close inspection under the car I noticed that the joints that move on the linkage were worn.
Also make sure that the shifter is connected tightly to the shift linkage as well.

mine moves pretty good both ways as well, I was told by a mechanic "probably" just bushings.
up and down not so much... If I hold the shifter I can feel it move in a couple of gears as I accelerate.

yeah i think its shifter bushings. mine doesnt move up and down at all its just left to right.. like if i put it in first. it slides over so it looks like its in third. but it never misses a gear or anything
