Default J&S Ultra Safeguard V1 or V2?

Okay I've been searching all night for information on both of these. The J&S site is not very current so that offered no help.

My question are the differences between the two? I can't find any info anywhere saying "This is what version 1 has and this is what version 2 has..." You'd think J&S would have this crap on their page.

version 2 has a map limiter circuit that prevents the ecu from seeing more than 3v from the map sensor in boost. kinda like a missing link thingy. good for turbo if you're not getting hondata/aem ems type standalone

Okay thats kind of what I was thinking the main difference was. So if I got a great deal on the Version 1 could I just get a missing link and then it would basically be the same?

i guess so. i dont know anything about missing link. i'd prefer the electronic map limiter, but i guess people use the ML without probs?

Well I hope it works...I need to send this guy money today to secure the Ver1 if I want it. It's a V1 with the monitor for $400...That seems worth it to me.

Yea I think I'll pick it up and just get an electronic map limiter. Thanks.

i wouldnt mind getting a j&s classic and just hooking it up to the knock sensor and have it not even retard timing just have it light up when hearing knock so i can use it to tune my standalone.

the limiter circuit feature described for version 2 - if i'm to get v2, would it still work as well with hondata?

Sure it will work. However, you should disable the map limiter and boost retard functions on the J&S v2 and use the Hondata to handle timing control. Therefore, you better off getting a J&S classic which only has knock control.

hmm... right now i have an option to get v2 used, which is less than classic, but as long as i disable retard funciton and have hondata handle the timing, - i should be alright?

thanks

Yes, just disable the map limiter, boost retard, as well as mid range retard functions and use only the knock retard.
