Doing the right stuff but NO power gains!
Go easy on me I'm new to this...
I'm steadily installing performance parts on my 94 del sol si but nothing noticeable yet!
Have installed
Denso Iridium spark plugs
8.5 Magnecore ignition wires
AEM Short Ram Intake
P2R Fuel Rail
NRG Torque Damper
Plan on installing
Unorhtodox Racing Pulley Kit
Gude Camshaft
Koyo Radiator
Flex-a-Lite Fan
Skunk2 Exhaust
ACT XACT Flywheel
Walbro Fuel Pump (190lph)
RC Fuel injectors (310cc)
DC Sports Headers
MSD Ignition (everything)
Skunk2 Intake Manifold (68mm)
Skunk2 Throttle Body (68mm)
JE pistons
Skunk2 Cam Gear
Eagle rods
Head gasket and Intake Manifold gasket
Hondata s300 for tuning
Obviously I'm only 1/4 of the way there. But I havn't felt a milisecond difference in acceleration. It's the same as stock except it sounds cool.
Can someone tell me if it's worth it to keep going??? Cuz thusfar I'm very dissappointed. I actually feel like the fuel rail slowed me down... HELP!

AEM Short Ram Intake - Changes the power curves. At most 1-3HP gain.
P2R Fuel Rail - No power change. Completely pointless
NRG Torque Damper - It's a mount. No power gain.

the fuel rail will act the same as stock unless you up the pressure with a fuel regulator. but then u need to add more air or you will run rich.
the stock intake and a aem intake dont really change to much without changing other things. it will just change the sound. maybe a litttle more throttle response.
theres not much u can do with the d series engine without alot of money'
just get a ls swap and enjoy the torque gain.
and all the other stuff was just money spent up on a nice tune-up really.
and the tourqe damper is good for turbo if you plan to do that, but that engine isnt really powerful enough to do anything close to what the damper is really used for

I don't have goals, just trying to get it to accelerate faster than it is now. Is that bad? ... And another question... Would the turbo kit from turbo-kits.com do anything?
The stuff you have done, aren't supposed to give you a noticeable gain, maybe once you do I/H/E and get it tuned, you might notice a slight gain. And if you go ahead with camshaft upgrade and stuff, you would notice
Not really. You will need to seriously start building the internals. N/A builds are just not cost effective. You could have pieced together what I call an entry level turbo kit and that would blow the doors off of what you put into this one.
Yeah. Are you saying you've done these or are planning to do them? Did I read your post incorrectly? With what you've done so far you won't see anything.
This isnt like playing NFS Underground not everything adds power and somethings will support it or make it smoother or run better. I think the best advice is from grumble build the internals or swap it its not going to be cheap and easy.
if u want a night and day experience of power you need to swap or add a turbo kit like mention above. these d16 econo motors do not respond well to bolt ons and u may gain 10hp and get 125whp. you could turbo your d16 on 5-10psi on a t3 turbo with stock engine and make 160-210whp. It depends on what your power goals are and budget.
Ok thanks everyone!!! From what I've gathered, I'm going to install everything I had planned. No time, money, or rescources for engine swap. I will put a good turbo in some day when I have the money, at least the rest of the engine will be built to support the turbo. I just put in the throttle body and intake manifold and it made a WORLD of difference. So I think its worth it to complete that list I have up there. Thanks for the input everyone!

The things you listed don't really give any power. A MSD w/ some good spark plug wires will give 1-2HP at max. Usually those systems are only used to create stronger sparks under high compression/FI applications.

Best thing to do is read every part of the FAQ then ask questions if you still haven't found an answer.
The guys who put the effort into the endless write ups really did a wonderful thing for anyone who owns or is considering buying a civic. I just wish I found this site before I bought my car.
