98 prelude 02 sensors are buggin
i jus got my exhaust done with a 2.5in cat through a 2.5 in welded exhaust (not bolt on) with a muffler and my o2 snesors are causin the check engine light. They cant be broken cuz i jus bought two new ones...any suggestions anyone????????? any help will be appreciated
if it's the P0420 code for the cat, it's because the new cat is bigger than stock and flowing more. easiest solution is to do the spark plug non-fouler trick to pull the after cat O2 sensor out of the exhaust a little more. have the same issue with my '96, and no cel for the cat since installing the non-foulers.

naa its a different one and both of the codes are pulling up, and p0135 p0141, so are you saying jus pull them out a little even though its a 2.5 inch exhaust? wont it be harder to read?
if someone can give me some advice it will be greatly appreciated...my car cant pass inspection because of the damn check engine light and i cant afford to get another ticket

so the codes you're getting are for both O2 sensors heater circuits...my other post was assuming it was the p0420 cat code so ignore that advice. I would check for loose wiring in the O2 sensors circuits, or the ecu may be bad. if you had the new O2's spliced in instead of plug and play, they may have been connected wrong. I had the p0135 in my '96 and it wound up being a bad ecu. so yeah, check your wiring and ecu.
