Default B16a 350 whp?

Hello all. Im wanting to get 350+whp out of my b16a and im wondering the best route to take. Budget is slim but i know that im going to go with JE pistons, Eagle H-Beam rods and without a doubt im going to boost it. And here is where i want some opinions on the setup that will get me to 350+whp.

For 350 turbo is the only way to go. do a lot of research.

Will this be a DD car?track car? drag car?

You can make that on a stock block with the right turbo and a good tune

350 on stock stock block is fine. Get a block guard or post the block if your worried about it. If your only taking it to the track it should be fine. Turbo is the way to go. Do reseach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Make friends with the search bar.

Block guards dont do much if not installed properly from a machine shop. Actually, they will destroy the engine if its even 1mm off balance in the block. Its gotta be precise, and it still aint really worth to have it in an engine build.

I dont know anyone who would install a block guard themselves. And thats your opinion. Lots of people run them with no problems its all in preference.

IMO I wouldn't waste my time with a block guard, not worth it.
Just do some research and look at all the setups out there.

350 on a stock sleeved B16 is easily attainable, esp if this is a track only car and will most likely be tuned on gas, e85, C16, etc).

Block guards, even if installed "properly" from a shop, are still worthless garbage and will most likely lead to an engine failure. They concentrate heat at the top of the cylinder. True, they reduce the cylinder's ability to move inside the cooling jacket casting, but they often obstruct coolant flow. Excess heat in the cylinder means hotter combustion cycles which can in turn cause detonation/pre-ignition = BOOOOM! Get my drift?

This is why you post turbo-related questions in the Forced Induction forum...its a little thing called "mis-information"

Listen to him. At least someone around here gets it

OP: Move to Forced Induction and ask your question there. You will have much better results
