biggest b18b bore possible! help
Whats up Honda-tech, sorry if im askn a question that has been askd b4, im going to bore my ls block, and was woundering if any 1 knew wat is the biggest bore i can go with high compression pistons with a non sleeved block!! Any info well help thnx
Thnx now would u think i woulda b good wit stock ls rods or that rilly wont matter, and do yu kno whats the highest compression i can go nd stay on pump gas, im still debating if i wana go race gas or not!
I have a ls block which was bord to 81.25 with ctr pistons which i was on pump gas, i fried a piston and now my block is in the shop and i want go with a big bore(non sleeved), with high compression pistons with mostly everythng stock just use some arp rod bolts nd a block guard, but i want to make sure im going to b on a safe side, so i want to know whats the biggest bore i can go and be safe and also after what compression racio would i have to go with race gas.

Like i said the 1st time im new to the pg so if i wantd ur wise answer i would of acted like i knew what the hell i was talking bout, thats why i asked the question twice if i didnt make it clear enuff my bad
Hey ej1bseries, the max you can go on stock sleeves for your LS block is 81.75mm. Going 82mm is really pushing the limit on the stock sleeves and boring out stock sleeves in general is a very risky maneuver to do.

Mr.eg, i was using ctr pistons because i only went to 81.25mm and i wanted to go with a high compression set up. So i decided to go with those, this time around im not sure if thats what im going to use since ctr pistons only come 81.5
Question:
why are you so compelled to go with a BIG BIG bore & HIGH HIGH compression on i assume a daily driven car. As said above, everything you need to learn will not be found in here....
Just answer this......how much hp are you looking to get.

Thank you Golden Eagle, and builda'teg its not going to be a daily drivin car, and my thought of going with a big bore and high compression it to get some good power with a all motor set up. And im looking for around 200-230hp.
i agree its not, i have a b16 which is completely done, but now my worrys are on the block. If i cant go to big on the bore i will just stay at 81.5mm. By any chance do you know after what compression ratio should i be on race gas?
