Default can i shave the block 0.040?

i have a b16a siR2(p30 piston) with a b18c5 head with Oem headgasket3 layer

i don't like the idea to shave my brand new head ( still in the honda box).. what about shaving the block 0.040...?

I "decked" my ls block .040" and the pistons were like .005'' below the block. My only complaint is that w/ my ctr pistons and flat face intake valves my compression is like 13.0:1 w/ pump gas. Dan paramore racing polished the chambers and said I could run pump gas. Dan was right I can but I have no room for tuning errors.
