Anyone have a pic of a Comptech rear lower tie bar installed?
Thinking about getting one but the pics look kinda weird and I'd like to see how it installs. From looking at the Neuspeed bars it looks like they just bolt onto the joint where the LCAs connect to the frame...but the end link design of the Comptech bars looks different. If anyone has pics or installation instructions for these bars they would be greatly appreciated.

The install is pretty difficult because you have to hold nuts in place while you thread the bolt through the control arm pickup points on the chassis. To do this you have to drop the LCA out of the way, and somehow hold the nuts on the inside surface of the frame while you thread the bolt through. You have to drill a total of eight holes... four on each side.
The Comptech sway/tie bar combo just bolts up utilizing the LCA bolts. Despite the difficult install, I am very happy with the bar's design.

hey thanks a lot for the pics. i'm a little shy of drilling...so i'm thinking about maybe going with a neuspeed bar? what do you guys think about neuspeed or some of the other manufacturers?
Other than this Comptech design, the rest are all the same. I would say that one is just as good as the other... afterall, it is just a bar. Mine is just a bar too... just seemed to me that the way this one is mounted makes it the most effective. A lot of people like the way the BENEN bar looks. The Neuspeed and Spoon ones look cool too. Much easier to install too. But if I didnt have the Suspension Techniques Bars already, I would have gotten the Comptech sway/tie combo.

So what type of lower tie bar will make the biggest improvement in handling? the comptech bar where you have to drill like 94Integrals posted, or the other kind that just bolts to the LCA bolts? i just need a lower tie bar to finish off my suspension and i dont know which is the best, i want the one that will make the biggest improvement. any imput on your experiences w/tie bars would be great, thanks.
The difference will be minimal at best between between the brands mentioned. To actually "feel" the difference in handling from a rear lower tie bar would be really hard.

Here is a reply I made to another similar post about this bar:
I bought the comptech stand-alone one because to me it's design seemed to be the best. The lower tie bars that attach at the lca bolts are only bracing the rearward edge of the lca mounting points. If the lca applies force on the bolt in a hard corner, the force will be transferred to the other end of the lca bolt that is not supported by the brace. I guess a better design than either of these would be if the brace was wider, and attached to the center of the lca bolts. The comptech one attaches at the center, but it relies on the strength of the steel attachment points on the underside of the chassis.

Afterall, this bar most closely mimics the stock lower tie bar on a Type R. In fact they make a direct replacement for the stock Type R that is the same style as this one... However, it bolts right up to the underside of the chassis in the stock location, so no drilling is required.
Here are the installation instructions for those of you that are interested:

This is what the Type R version of the bar looks like:
