Comptech Lower Endlink Brackets *PICS*
*Move the thread if it doesnt belong here*
I took my bar off a couple of weeks ago, since one of the bolts that goes through the endlink and into the sway bar, was missing. Later on, i found out that both my endlinks enlinks were loose, and neede to be replaced.
New Endlinks + Brackets and all the necessary came out to be around $127 shipped.
Here's what comes with the kit (+ new endlinks)
instructions are straight forward, except for this. Unlike the old mounting hardware, the bolt does not enter from the front side of the Lower Control Arm, like this:
Reason why that is the incorrect way, is because that bolt hits on the head of the endlink. Here's a pic of how close the bolt is to the "head" of the endlink, after i put some extra washers (if i did not use the washers, the wholes on the side of the endlinks would not line up with those on the C-bracket).
you can see there's barely any room, after the washers.
Now if you put that bolt in the other way around, this is how much clearance would be between the "head" of the endlink, and the bolt. BTW, this is the correct way to install the bolt.
Another pic, this time from the other side of the lower control arm:
Last pic is to show how the endlinks should be hooked up:
well thats that.
Now as for end results, the car oversteers way too much on the "hard" setting. I had the same supension set up with the old links, and oversteer was never this bad. So either the old, busted endlinks were not giving me the full potential of the sway bar, or my semi-bald tires may have had something to do with it.
I guess if you have any questions, ill try to answer them.

You had the old hardware mounted incorrectly....
If you have a huge amount of oversteer now, your swaybar might be binding...

adjust the bar? look at the holes at the end of the bar on the last pic.
SkyeC: please go into details, cause today i was getting an awful clunk from the rear.

did your comptech endlinks make a lot of noise? i used to have the comptech sway bar, but the endlinks drove me nuts, so i sold the bar with endlinks and swapped in a 22mm ITR bar with SI endlinks. it is dead quiet now. i am still using the comptech tie bar though for reinforcement..

the endlinks are still noisy, but not like before. i cant really compare since i bought my kit used with busted end links.
