Default VAFC...Does it Have a Mind of its Own?

Here's the deal...

a.) RPM Correction
1000------->0
2000------->0
3500------>-8

b.) Lo/Hi Throttle is at 10%/50%

I'm monitoring the Air Correction Rate on my VAFC and it's registering numbers at instances where I don't think it should. I know the VAFC has a formula for calculating the fuel correction when throttle is between your Lo/Hi throttle settings but...

??? Should it be correcting fuel if my RPMs are below 3500 ???

You set your own correction settings at whatever RPM's. The unit won't just figure it out for you. If your worried about what it's doing just initialize everything back to zero which will be stock settings and then retune on a dyno to your own likings

That's not entirely true. The VAFC has a formula to calculate the correct amount of fuel correction to apply when you're between the your Lo/Hi throttle postion settings. Taking my settings as an example, at 3500K I have a fuel correction of -8%. If i'm at 3500K at WOT, the whole -8% will be applied. If I'm between the 10%-50% throttle instead of WOT, the VAFC will calculate how much of the -8% fuel correction to apply.

I actually just came from the dyno this weekend. My point was, since my first fuel correction is at 3500K, I shouldn't be seeing any corrections being applied before 3500K regardless of throttle postion. But my VAFC isn't acting in a way I'm expecting it to. For example, I'm at 2500K rpms...once my throttle goes over 10%, the Air Correction Monitor is indicating that the VAFC is applying fuel correction.

Sorry, Misunderstood your previous post. That does seem strange. My V-AFC needs to be reprogrammed. The dumb ***** at the dyno I went to set me at +6 for wide and narrow throttle settings from VTEC up. I'm not happy with these settings, but at the time I didn't know enought about fuel correction to make my own settings. Good luck with your problem, let me know what you find out

if 3500 is -8% then it will draw a line to -8 from the value at the last rpm point.
