Default Max psi with MBC and Wastegate ?

Gettin ready to get tuned for high boost and I have a Hallman ES MBC and my Tial 38mm has a 7.2 PSI spring in it. Now I came across some threads where they say that a MBC can only handle twice of what the spring in the wastegate is and somehow I DON'T believe this!

Can someone confirm that we should be able to hit 20 psi no problem with the Hallman ES MBC although my WG spring is 7.2 PSI? Thanks.

about 2.5 times maximum is what most controllers (especially ball/spring, like a Hallman). on the TiAL spring you'll have trouble HOLDING that boost pressure of 20psi with such a light spring.

Do yourself a favor, and change springs to something a little higher if you plan on adjusting to 20psi.

Ok thanks Shodan - I think I am going to be changing to the 10 psi spring (large yellow) for my Tial 38mm ...

GO HIGHER. .8bar or .9bar (11.76psi and 13.2psi respectively). If you're going to go 20psi of pressure, don't Eff around. DO IT... ;-)

heres my 7.5psi spring and home made ball and spring boost controller. perhaps the best boost controller ever made. i used an air soft BB instead of a steel ball baring and a pretty light spring and it works REALLY WELL.
