compression check D16a6
so i did a compression check on my 91 si with a d16a6 and i got 119-122-121-124. they're consistent but consistently low, it burns oil especially bad in cylinder 3 (second away from front of engine).
I'm assuming piston rings but i got no basis other than it burns oil really bad from 600-2000 rpm and when i kick on it. it burns not as bad but visibly when idling and when i tap on the gas after coasting for a while. Does anyone else think of any reasons why it'd burn this bad with that consistantly low of compression?

Motor is tired - your rings are shot.
"...Now me and the mad scientist are going to have to rip apart the block and replace the pistons rings you just fried..."

Pull your plugs and put a table spoon full of oil down each cylinder then reinstall plugs and redo compression test. If the compression gets better then it will confirm you have bad rings.
Another test that may help you is to die your oil so you can make sure that the oil you are burning is from a internal source and not a leak on a manifold or something to that effect.
I believe you should be looking for the 160-165 range (but I may be wrong) so 120's would be pretty bad.
have you owned the car a long time? Sounds like some one didnt know how to install rings.

If you're coasting down in gear that can cause oil to weep past the valve stem seals into the intake and exhaust and burn off when you get on the throttle, if the stem seals are done.
