Default Compression test Questions

Ok Im about to do a compression test but should I do it with the motor warm? And whats this about putting a cap of oil in each cyclinder so I wont damage my rings? Im using the c-speedracing.com site.

the cap of oil is only for if your compression checks bad. if one of your pistons has bad compression you can put a cap of oil in the cylinder and if the compression jumps up to what it should be it means your rings are bad. the oil temporarily seals your rings.
