Default 1995 del sol si - best bet for speed and power while still having reliability

On Tuesday ill be getting a 1995 del sol si. It has the stock d16z6 with just a intake, upper skunk2 brace, and a full stainless steal exhaust but no headers. I just sold my ls vtec crx so i know more then a little about civics. but i was wondering whats my best bet for speed and power while still having reliability. I know ill get a lot of comments like turbo, supercharger, and nos. But no funds for that right now. I also have a d16z6 block and head in my garage so i was thinking about building that for turbo and buying a ebay turbo. Anyone use a ebay turbo? ill be posting pics of car soon. Thanks for the help

If you have no money for forced induction then the answer would be nothing. Ebay turbos are like playing Russian roulette with your engine.

Iv heard that ebay turbos are just fine for boosting at around 5-10 psi as long as you break them in and not get on it right after installation

Weld the internal wastegate on the turbo shut and use an external wastegate. Then break it in slowly and it will last. They arent a greddy or turbonetics but they will do the job and are perfect for about 5-8 psi which is what would be ran on a stock motor.

PSI means nothing.
Horsepower is the determining factor of what your engine is capable of handling.
Just saying that I know without a shadow of a doubt that you know don't what the hell you are talking about.

Weld the wastegate shut? All Ebay turbos are internally gated? Hack job half-assed building advice is what I'd call that.

Do it right or don't do it at all. Build it right and you will have a reliable build that will last a while. Don't take advice like this from people on a forum. Do your research and take your time. Don't let anyone spoon feed you information.

I know someone who put a JR supercharger on their z6 Sol with good results. You'll need a tune with any of those options you mentioned.

Anything you do N/A will cost more than its worth.

Enjoy the 125 ponies you get stock.

Why are you so grumpy? Well i guess it comes with knowing everything right?

Yes weld the wastegate shut. the internal wastegates in the ebay turbos are crap. He mentioned an ebay turbo kit and i told him what i learned from one of my buddies who is a certified honda mechanic. Too bad he lives so far away or id have him get my car running in pristine condition.

So again, no firsthand experience. Take advice from people, that knows someone that is boosted or their "boy" slapped a junkyard turbo on his engine, with a grain of salt.

No I don't know everything. I know about my car and what I had to do to boost it. Going on 3 years now of reliable performance on a stock engine. No hack hob wiring or rigged up stuff here.

And what makes me "grumpy" are know-nothings trying to give poor souls who also know nothing, second, third and hearsay advice.

Forced induction is not cheap be it turbo or supercharger.

A tune alone will run you $300-$500 ON TOP OF the fuel/engine management you'll have to run ON TOP OF all the other bits and pieces that won't fit/break from that Ebay kit.

So go ahead and cheap out. You'll regret it.
