Thinking of buying a del Sol with Turbo
Hey guys, I'm thinking about purchasing a '95 del Sol with a B16 engine and a turbo on it. I would be using this as a daily driver, and was wondering if there is anything I should be weary about in purchasing a car that is already turboed. Thanks.

Unless the car were spotless and minty on every angle and every part on it were quality I wouldn't buy it.
My brother and I have had our fair share of other peoples projects and we'll never do that again.
The car never feels like yours and you'll hate yourself for every problem you come across that was created by the previous owner.

The only problem with cars that are more heavily modified is that you have no idea what is really done and to what quality it has been done.

Thanks guys. Kinda reaffirming what I was thinking. I just didn't want to get stuck with someone else's project like you were saying.

especially if its nothing but a ebay setup with a ssautochrome manifold which are prone to cracking. ebay waste gates fall apart and are junk. make sure its decent kit not junk or u will be replacing parts before u know it. usually better off finding a stock honda and modifying it yourself unless it looks like someone payed to play and took care and maintained the car as it should be.

Unless you can see inside of the engine you should never buy a highly modified car from a stranger. You need to know the history of the previous owner/s and the history of the build.

Yeah unfortunately there is no real way for me to know. It would be all based on what I can see under the hood. I doubt he has any documentation on what was actually done.

Even if the build is legit there is a problem if you don't know anything about a boosted engine and how to maintain it. If it breaks down or develops a problem then you'd be at the mercy of some shop possibly or some shadetree mechanic that has no clue what he is doing.
