made an oopsy with the oil... wrong grade..
Finnally got around to changing my oil today (800 miles over due..... damn finals) After i got everything buttoned up, i was putting the oil jug in the trunk and noticed i picked up the wrong stuff.... i had grabbed 5w-20 insted of 5w-30... i had already started the engine and took it for a spin down the street (was fixing a few other things as well) and my oil light never came on and vtec enguaged normally... so is there any harm in running 5w-20 until the next oil change? or should i change it out with my next pay check?
If it were 10w30 I would say it's not a big deal. But 5w20 I'm not sure. The 20 is the viscosity that your engine will see 90% of the time you're driving and I'm not sure that's a good idea.
My fiances FG civic was 5w20, so I can only hope your engine would be okay but I don't know enough about oil viscosity to really tell you. tbh if you have to get some blended 5w30 for the time being and just change the oil.

My brother ran 20w50 in his B18C's all summer, they were boosted and ran hard with never a single problem. I wouldn't suggest it in your DD during a -10* winter tho...
