my friend and i have completed the mini me swap on his eg hatch. and we cant seem to get it to start up. we know its something to do with the dizzy he is running the z6 head and dizzy. not sure why its fighting us. what is the proper firing order for the dizzy. No matter what way you turn the dizzy just wont start.

 

Got spark? Fuel? Checked firing order?

WTF Wax? How do you even ATTEMPT a swap like this and not even know how to set the correct firing order? Do you at LEAST have a manual? Do a quick search?

 

If the plug wire firing order is correct, check the mechanical timing.

Any CEL codes? Did you swap any sensor connectors?

 

That's the firing order we used no codes and.we didn't swap any sensors. I will check the.mechanical timing

 

Thermostat ground?

 

He has spark and fuel.

 

Does anyone know if y8 spark plug wires will work with a z6 dizzy. i know when you read most of the swap forums for this they tell you to use z6 wires with z6 dizzy. but since the y8 wires are for a vtec head does it matter.

 

Problem sovled. Turns out we have to use the original dizzy and notch it. the ecu cant recognize the z6 dizzy because tooth count is different. you could replace the ecu to match the dizzy, but since we dont have that ecu we are going to notch the dizzy instead.
