Default Power window problem :/

My buddy has a sedan and the left rear window is stuck halfway down and wont roll up or down and we dont know how to fix it, it was rolling up and down at first now its not doing either. we took the door panel off and checked the wires, everything is plugged in. Does anyone know how to remedy this issue??

Civic? Year?

If you run power and ground wires directly from the battery to the window motor, does the motor now run?

In order to pinpoint and fix the problem, you need to remove the door panel and inspect the condition of the regulator and the window alignment. If you are not technical enough to do that, then take the car to a shop.

While the door panel is off, it's not much more work to connect wires to the + and - battery posts, disconnect the window motor plug, and then touch the + and - wires to the two terminals of the window motor plug to see/listen whether the motor runs.

This is new information that should have been included in the first post. The clicking noise almost surely means the window motor is fine and that the window regulator is bad and needs to be replaced.

Your best bet would be just to put something over the window at the moment.

Think about it. This may be your best short term solution until the rain stops and you can replace the regulator.
